Looking to elope, but not sure where? More and more couples are trading in the dreams of a traditional wedding for a wild and free elopement, and for good reason! With the rising costs of weddings and more couples paying for their own big day, it’s not only a more affordable option, but removes a lot of stress that couples often experience. Eloping no longer means running away in secret to your local courthouse to get hitched (but is fine if that’s what you want to do!). Instead it gives you a chance to focus on you and your future spouse and get a chance to celebrate your best day ever!
We are bias, but think Oregon has some of the most beautiful locations to elope in the country and picked 8 of our current favorites to help you decide on your dream elopement spot. Trust me when we say there’s hundreds of beautiful locations, so this is just the start to a very long list.
Trillium Lake will blow your mind with this stunning view of Mt. Hood. Just a couple miles away from Timberline lodge this spot is one of my all time favorite views of Mt. Hood perfect for your elopement.
Ecola State Park
We love Cannon Beach, but think Ecola State Park offers the best views of it. Not only can you head down to the beach area for photos but get this amazing view up on the cliffs.
Columbia River Gorge
Our personal favorite spot in Oregon, so much so we planned our own wedding in the gorge! You have so many different spots to elope at, you really can’t go wrong.
Smith Rock State Park
Another state park on the list this one is a crowd favorite for elopements. The warm colored rocks make the most romantic background for photos.
The Painted Hills
Located in Southern Oregon, this area is absolutely stunning full of history and natural beauty.
Oregon’s National Park, Crater Lake is completely awe-inspiring. The water is the bluest you’ll ever see, and I feel like this picture doesn’t quite do it’s justice on how stunning this location is, just trust me when I say it’s beautiful.
Oregon has over 100 waterfalls, so it seems a bit insane to pick just one. We love this one since the hike is pretty easy, it’s less busy and you could end up with the waterfall all to yourself.
Central Oregon promises some beautiful views including Mt. Jefferson. There are some amazing trails closer to the mountain or pick a spot outside of Sisters with this stunning view.
We hope this little list helps you decide on a location, and also keep an eye out for more of our favorites throughout the seasons.
