On a recent trip with some other photographers we stopped at Mt. Rainier for a couple days where we got to photograph this elopement inspiration. We meet up with Gracie and Scott at our cabin to get ready in the afternoon. They wrote little notes to each other and spent the time laughing and getting dressed before we headed up to the mountain. You probably would think I was crazy if I told you that there was actually snow on the forecast for the day, but we took the risk and realized you should never trust the iPhone weather app.
It was about a 45 minute drive from the cabin, winding through the trees as you make your way up to Mt. Rainier. We finally reached a point where we were above most of the clouds and the mountain looked beautiful over the trail as we headed out. It was a beautiful evening on the trail as we made our way to their ceremony spot. We even spotted a mama bear and cub off in one of the near by meadows and a fox that ran by.
We walked about a mile to a small lake off the trail where they shared their letters and where we ended our evening. It started to cool off so we pulled out the jackets just in time for it to start sprinkling a little before we headed back to our cars. Overall it was such a beautiful evening and I can’t wait to visit the area again.
