Everything about autumn pulls on my heartstrings, from the crisp air and misty mornings to all the beautiful leaves changing and cozy clothing I can’t get enough of this time of year! I especially love the Portland area in fall and think if you’re looking to visit the PNW come now! It’s so amazing and beautiful you will not be disappointed.
If you have a day we’ve dreamed up the perfect fall road trip through the gorge to put on your to do’s this season.
We took this drive last fall, and even though 2020 looks a little different we hope everyone can get a chance to get out in nature especially while the days are sunny before our rainy season starts. Our favorite place to eat in the gorge is Sugarpine Drive-in which is the perfect first stop on your fall drive. There’s nothing like a grilled cheese and tomato soup when the weather is crisp. Located in Troutdale, Oregon this is the perfect first stop into the gorge.
Once you’ve finished eating take the old Columbia Gorge Highway. This drive alone is beautiful and has plenty of places to stop. We decided to stop at the Vista House, Latourell Falls and Multnomah, but even if you don’t want to get out of your car, put on some good music and just enjoy the drive.
Let us know if you decide to take this drive, especially while the leaves are changing! Do you have a favorite spot in the gorge to stop?
